Aims of Counselling
Space: To provide you with a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space in which you can talk about emotions and thoughts that you may not have been able to express before, or to address important matters that have been put off but always seem to return.
Support: To provide a supportive relationship where you experience warmth, empathy and understanding.
Barriers: Counselling can explore the barriers in your life - those you are conscious of and those you are not conscious of. Some problems may never go away entirely but how we manage them and our attitude/relationship to them can change. Oddly enough as we feel better, or make different connections, the problem may not be so overbearing.
Choices: The essential purpose of therapy is to enable a better understanding and awareness of yourself so that you can make informed choices about how you want to live your life.
