About Me

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor. I pride myself on practising to the highest ethical standards and I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I adhere to the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code of Ethics.

My Approach

In my practice I work to an integrative approach which allows me to progress at your pace applying Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) principles. The integrative counselling approach acknowledges that you are a unique individual and that different people have different needs and no one single approach is sufficient.

What do I Offer?

I offer a confidential one-to-one counselling service to individuals either short or long term. Clients generally meet with me once weekly for a 50-minute session. Counselling/therapy is not an advice service, it doesn't give you the answers but helps you discover them for yourself. For more information on counselling please click here

Aims of Counselling

Space: To provide you with a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space in which you can talk about emotions and thoughts that you may not have been able to express before, or to address important matters that have been put off but always seem to return.

Support: To provide a supportive relationship where you experience warmth, empathy and understanding.

Barriers: Counselling can explore the barriers in your life - those you are conscious of and those you are not conscious of. Some problems may never go away entirely but how we manage them and our attitude/relationship to them can change. Oddly enough as we feel better, or make different connections, the problem may not be so overbearing.

Choices: The essential purpose of therapy is to enable a better understanding and awareness of yourself so that you can make informed choices about how you want to live your life.
